Execution Credits Guide
Learn how credits are deducted on our secure sandboxing infrastructure. We use a developer-friendly Command-Weighted Tiering system.
Free / Navigation Commands
Basic environment operations, file navigation, clearing the terminal, and inspecting file contents do not consume any credits. You can run unlimited free operations.
Standard Run / Compile
Executing custom program scripts, compiled binaries, repository status checks, or committing code updates counts as a standard execution run.
Heavy / Installs & Downloads
Commands invoking external package installations, cloning large remote repositories, managing docker containers, or generating external network downloads.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are credits deducted for basic navigation commands?
No! Navigation commands like `ls`, `pwd`, and `cd` are completely free. They consume 0 credits and execute instantly on the client side without needing remote container compilation.
Why do package installs like pip/npm consume 5 credits?
Installing packages is a heavy resource operation requiring external internet bandwidth, space allocation, and background compilation. We charge them at a proportional weighted rate.
What is the difference between Daily and Lifetime Test credits?
You receive 50 Free Daily Test Credits every day which reset daily. If this daily limit is exhausted, credits will be deducted from your default 1000 Lifetime Test Credits pool.
Are credits deducted for failed/error code runs?
Yes. Executing code requires initializing a secure sandbox container that utilizes remote CPU and memory resources, regardless of whether your script encounters runtime errors.
